The web hosting industry is a large one, where many new companies are being developed on a daily basis. With so many companies competing against each other, the only way for them to make money is offer unbelievable rates on their plans. Some companies offer great rates, but they try to cram all their customers into one single server. This is not a good idea because it will eventually slow down all the websites on the server, and in return you get awful hosting service. So, instead of switching from host to host, the best idea is to consider a very good host, in the initial process.
Do some researches at first to find some hosting companies that offer good rates. Just collect a list of web hosting companies, and put them aside. Once you have compiled a list of some of the possible companies you may select, you should go through the list and check each one out in detail. Some of the things you should consider are the following.
1. Does the web hosting company website look professional? Are all the links working and are all the images showing up? If you see a lack of presentation, you know what to do. These companies most likely have just started up, and you cannot rely on them, if they have yet to finish their own website.
2. Look through the website and see what type of support services the web hosting company offers. There are several common ones in the market, such as email support, live chat and phone support. The best option is to go with a company that offers live chat or live phone support. Now, just because the site displays the live support symbol, doesn’t mean they are good right off the bat. You should contact them and ask them some presales questions. By contacting them, you now have an idea of the response time and the knowledge of the staff. Some companies have live chat, but there is never a person online to help.
3. A web hosting company’s background history is highly important when considering them as your host. If someone has had a bad experience with a particular web host, you will be able to find something online about this issue. People post their issues on forums, blogs, and hosting review sites. Check how long the company has been in business for. If the company has been in business for several years, you know they have some experience in the business.
If you see that the web hosting company has passed its test, you can go ahead and make your purchase decision. If ever you have any issues with your host, you should be able to get support from them, if they have promised this in their original proposal.
